Thank you for supporting the W21C Research and Innovation Centre
The W21C Research and Innovation Centre’s primary aim is to Make Care Better for our communities. Based in the University of Calgary’s O’Brien Institute for Public Health and the Calgary zone of Alberta Health Services, we are committed to improving the systems we use to deliver health care.
W21C works in partnership with healthcare providers, academics, non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, industry, and governments to initiate, test, and improve tools and systems for better health care by:
- Finding ways to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other infections in hospitals and our communities.
- Evaluating and enhancing the design of hospital spaces or medical devices.
- Exploring innovative ways to provide care in people’s homes, rather than in hospitals or clinics.
- Understanding the impact of new digital health technologies to both patients and providers.
With our ‘Living Laboratory’ (the only one of its kind in Canada), we are able to identify challenges in the health system, and test and solve problems right at the frontlines of patient care.
Philanthropic support fuels innovations to address system needs – enabling us to help the right people, in the right places, at the right time. Join us and, together, we can inform and improve the future of health care delivery.
