Inspired by a spirit of paying it forward, this endowed bursary will help ease the financial burden of tuition for law students and broaden access to legal education for generations to come. An endowed bursary will provide financial support in perpetuity, strengthening the Faculty’s ability to assist students and extending the impact of the 50th anniversary well into the next half-century.
“As we celebrate 50 years of UCalgary Law, we’re also looking ahead to the future we want to build. For many students, the cost of legal education remains a real barrier. By easing the financial burden of tuition, this bursary will open the door to more students and ensure a wider range of voices can access a legal education and contribute to the profession,” said Dean of Law, Dr. Laura Spitz. “This initiative is about paying forward the opportunities that shaped this Faculty, while making legal education more accessible for the next generation.”
