CME&PD COVID Education Fund
Over two years and five waves of a global pandemic, the Cumming School of Medicine’s Office of Continuing Medical Education & Professional Development have supported our health care system and healthcare workforce with timely and trusted COVID-19 training, education and resources, within our COVID Corner episodes and broader programming.
CME&PD has provided consistent and evidence-based content to help health care professionals navigate the rapidly evolving science and recommendations around the management of COVID-19 through 32 COVID Corner episodes which assisted our front-line heroes stay up to date and equipped with the knowledge to better serve their patients. COVID Corner has also provided a unique shared learning community for primary and specialty care clinicians, touching on the broad impacts of the pandemic and beyond, bringing connections and support as well as education.
To date through the generosity of donations from provincial stakeholders as well as private donors, we have been able to deliver 63 hours of FREE accredited CPD through COVID Corner. These episodes have been planned by the 17 members, past and present, of the Scientific Planning Committee, as well as the 256 healthcare professionals who all volunteered their time as speakers, panelists, and moderators. 18,524 participants from across Alberta, as well as Canada and around the world, have attended these live sessions, and many more have visited our eCME website to access recordings and other valuable resources.
You make it happen. Your generous support is still needed so we can continue to offer even more COVID Corner episodes to support our front-line clinicians as we navigate the transition to endemic status. Together, we will work toward creating a better future of health for all.
