Give to the Water Institute
Water is essential to healthy communities, thriving ecosystems, and a sustainable future. Yet accelerating environmental change, growing pressures on freshwater resources, and emerging threats to water security are creating increasingly complex challenges for communities, governments, and industries around the world.
The Water Institute at the University of Calgary brings together leading researchers, students, Indigenous partners, communities, governments, and industry to address these challenges through interdisciplinary research, collaboration, and innovation.
We are organized around three interconnected themes: Water and Climate, Water and Health, and Water and People. Using these themes, the Institute advances our understanding of changing water systems, develops solutions to emerging water security challenges, and connects scientific knowledge with practical action.
Through this work, the Water Institute aims to strengthen water security and resilience in Alberta, across Canada, and around the world.
Your impact
We are seeing a rapid rate of environmental change that is reshaping our relationship with water. From shifting precipitation patterns and declining water availability to emerging threats to water quality and ecosystem health, water security is becoming one of the defining challenges facing communities, governments, and industries.
The Water Institute is bringing together expertise from across disciplines to better understand these emerging challenges, anticipate future risks, and develop innovative solutions that strengthen water security and resilience.
Your support will help advance collaborative research, train the next generation of water leaders, foster partnerships with communities and decision-makers, and translate scientific discoveries into practical solutions.
By investing in the Water Institute, you are helping ensure that Alberta, Canada, and communities around the world have the knowledge, expertise, and partnerships needed to navigate environmental change and build a more water-secure future.
