Our work is carried out through two key initiatives: the Clinical and Translational Exercise Physiology Laboratory (CTEP) and Brain in Motion.

Brain in Motion explores how exercise and other lifestyle factors influence brain health and cognitive function as women and men age.
Through comprehensive research studies, the team is investigating the role of exercise and lifestyle factors on cardiorespiratory fitness, vascular function, sleep, blood biomarkers, genetics and proteomics, and sex hormones to reduce the risk of Alzheimer disease and related dementias, to maintain cognitive health, and to support healthy brain and vascular aging.
Your Impact
Your donation will support research on the role of exercise in women’s and men’s health, will help train the next generation of trainees (educators, researchers, clinician scientists), and will help broaden our reach with community engagement and outreach activities across the laboratory's research programs. Together, we are advancing discoveries that have the potential to improve health, promote healthy aging, and enhance quality of life for women, men, and our communities.
