Welcome to our sign-up page for the 10th annual Drive for Thrive Golf Tournament, taking place on May 26th, 2025 at Silver Springs Golf Course. This annual event serves as a powerful platform to raise both funds and awareness for the Thrive Centre and its impactful exercise and cancer programs, which span across Canada. 

Since our inaugural tournament in 2015, we have successfully raised over $400,000 to support the Thrive Centre operations. In 2023, Jeff Tonken with Birchcliff Energy and the Dyck family provided additional generous donations to support our continued exercise oncology program implementation work across Alberta. This support has allowed us to continue to deliver our exercise oncology programs online and in locations across Calgary, Alberta, and Canada. 
 
Building from the success of both the Alberta Cancer Exercise (ACE) and EXercise for Cancer to Enhance Living well (EXCEL) studies, our exercise oncology work in Southern Alberta will be supported directly from all funds raised this year. We have the unique opportunity to start our wellness pathway in Calgary’s new Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, by having our team present at the on-site gym and supporting patients along their treatment pathway. We have tailored resources in French, Punjabi, and for young adults, as well as programs that meet the unique needs of populations including those with brain tumours and those undergoing stem cell transplants. This will all become part of our ‘standard exercise oncology care’ at the Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. 

The impact of exercise is clear – improving physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. While we continue to advocate within AHS’s Cancer Care systems to include exercise as part of supportive cancer care, funds raised ensure we can continue to make exercise programs available.

Registration Information:

Registration for our 10th annual Drive for Thrive Golf tournament is now open. The 2025 registration fee is slightly more than 2024, to accommodate for increased golf, food, and service prices. Registration of $245 covers green fees, cart rental, and dinner (accommodation available for dietary restrictions). There is the opportunity to purchase guest dinner tickets ($100), lunch ($30), as well as mulligans (also available day of) during this online registration process. Please note that dinner and lunch are NOT available to purchase day-of the event. 

Registration fees cover costs – they do NOT provide funding for the Thrive Centre or any of its programs. If you want to contribute to the Thrive Centre’s impact, please consider donating at the link you’ll find during the registration process.
